Services at St Mary’s (Old Information)
We are a church family of widely varying ages, from very young children to venerable members in their 90s! Our worship services are therefore planned with this in mind.
We look forward to welcoming you, as together we seek to fulfil the part of our Mission statement, ‘growing in worship’.
Please note that services are currently suspended due to Covid-19, but please check the home page for alternative worship options.
Sundays
Our Sunday services are held at 8am and 10:30am. On the first Sunday of each month there is a Family Service at 10:30am, usually held in our Church Centre. This is a shorter service with music for all ages led by our worship team. A play area with seating is available at the back of the hall. On the other Sundays we meet in the Church. On the second and fourth Sundays we normally have a Common Worship Communion Service, whilst the third Sunday is matins – a very traditional morning service taken from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.

THURSDAYS
A Common Worship Communion service is held at the Church every Thursday from 10am. In the winter this service takes place in the Centenary Room – which is adjoined to the church.
☕ All are welcome to join for tea and coffee afterwards at 10:45am in the Parish Centre (whether or not you have attended the service).
CHILDREN
All children aged 3-10 are warmly invited to come to Sunday Club. We meet on Sunday mornings from 10:30-11:45am.
We start with the adults in church, then leave after the first hymn and go to the Parish Centre. We sing songs, have Bible stories, activities and a drink and a biscuit.
The children meet in groups according to age with a rota of helpers (all checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service). Do come and meet us all.
For more information, please contact Sunday Club Coordinator, Jean Day.
BABIES AND TODDLERS
A crèche is available in the Church Centre during the 10:30am service on Sundays. Babies and toddlers can be cared for during all, or part, of the service as seems appropriate to their parent.
During the family service there is a play area and seating at the back of the hall.
YOUTH
Young people from 11-18 years up meet during the 10:30 Sunday service for bible study, chat, prayer and activities.
On Sunday nights, we run a programme of activities for 11-18 year olds. Visit the Kippington Youth Club page for more information.
WORSHIP
Worship enables us to draw near to God. We like to use a mixture of traditional and contemporary music, hymns and songs. Tradition helps provide a secure basis for worship, whilst contemporary music can help provide life and relevance for today.
In worship there is also both awe and intimacy. Awe as we stand, or kneel before the One who created all things, intimacy as we draw close to him who came to live among us as one of us, Jesus.
